Google is launching a new platform that will be named Google Play. This will be a change to the current Android market that will give the more clear ability to sell digital content such as Books, Movies and Music, not just apps.

Books, Music and Videos apps will now become Play Books, Play Music and Play Movies, while the Android Market itself will be renamed to Play Store. Android 2.2+ should get the software update within the next few days,  but initial release will not have any new features other then name change.
